The Gooey Middle

A long time ago I made this fruit tart from a recipe from the Internet. I had never ever had a fruit tart before but went with the easiest recipe I could find that cut some corners ( me equals a lazy baker at times) When I finished I scooped a big slice onto my plate and realized it was probably the grossest thing I've ever tasted. It was such a shame because the outside looked beautiful with nicely carved strawberries, fresh blueberries and thinly sliced kiwi placed nicely in a circle. I thought this was a good lesson in general, no matter how good you look on the outside if your still super nasty on the inside no one will love or enjoy you.

Yesterday as I was dropping off Travis I watched his neighbor pull up to his house in a old red motorcycle that looked really close to a Honda from the 70s which is what my dad had. The kids were so excited and stood around watching as the daughter climbed onto the backseat and held her dad tight. It reminded me of the first time my dad brought his Honda home and he took me for a ride around the block. At that time our city was all farm fields and it was during the fall when everything turned amber and we rode through a sea of dead fields waiting for the winter snow to blanket their backs. That feeling of being free like flying while being scared for my life I will never forget. I watched Travis's neighbors take get ready to take off and couldn't wait for the journey and for those amazing feelings.

Did you know that engagement parties means gifts? Either did I. Our engagement party was really great, lots of food, friends and family that made it lovely. My only regret is that I didn't take any pictures I'm so bad at that stuff. Life is too generous sometimes you just feel guilty.

Well I've had chocolate every day for so many weeks I cant even count. While I haven't gained any weight I've realized that I've become so much more of a happier person..isn't that crazy? A little bit of chocolate a day keeps the mental doc away I guess :)
