Meant to Be

Each year we do this medallion hunt in our city. You collect the buttons, and the clues and get geared up to head out in the frosty weather looking for a puck that's worth 10,000. Its one of my favorite times of year because who doesn't like to to hunt for treasure. The clues are pretty hard to read sometimes, but except for last year we generally get the right area. This year, when someone found the medallion and the hiding spot was given out, we realized we walked right over it! multiple times! Its always heart breaking when someone finds it, I guess because you spend so much of your two weeks scouring over clues, wearing so many layers you can hardly breath digging up snow and crushing ice. When we found out that we had walked right past it, multiple times it was even more heartbreaking being so close! so close we could have touched it, and held it in our hands. Looking back on it there were ALOT of people at the same park, probably hundreds. I watched hundreds of people walk right past the medallion, just like us. Some people were even digging in the right spot but just gave up before they got to it. The person that found it, found it within 5 minutes of being at the park. Like a gravitational pull lead her to the exact area. I believe that there are things that are meant to be. Obviously the icy puck lay hidden in waiting just for her specifically, not for anyone else. Its one of the most important but hard learning lessons in life, somethings are meant for you while others aren't. Doesn't mean we will never find it one day, but it wasn't meant for us this year. I think gratitude is key in that fate or whatever energies out there that helps us along our way chose the right decision for everyone.

Now that my favorite part of winter is over, I'm left with boring long winter. I get a little stir crazy. Lately I've been doing alot of things around the house and even getting into art more. I have started doing portraits of musicians that I admire. I'm thinking about selling them, but for now they are a fun way to spend the time.
